About me

My name is Sean Lyu. I am a fourth-year student, studying Finance, Marketing, and Communication studies at Northeastern University. I am scared of failure, but what I have come to realize recently, I am scared of regretting because I didn't try hard enough, I could've done better.

Our Story

We all have faced different roadblocks and crossroads in our lives. Looking back, I have tasted the sour in my mouth (failed start-up ideas, bad grades during COVID), but I can’t throw tantrums by giving up, that would be the biggest betrayal of the trust my parents had in me, my own potential. I thought that it’s about time to start somewhere that will help me reach my goals and prepare me for what’s next, whether it’s for getting to a top graduation school program or getting a job I like.
On August 15th, 2023. I was on a train ride from New York, going to Boston. The ride was four-and-a-half hours long and dreary. I was flipping in my seat and getting up and down; I couldn’t wait for it to be over. Rather than blaming the train, I turned it around at myself and said, if I had been working or my responsibility taking care of my responsibility that ride, like my life depended on it. It wouldn’t have been the same. In fact, I could’ve gotten a lot done in four hours long, undisrupted timeframe.
It was this epiphany, a moment of introspection that made me want to do something good for myself. In the process of talking with a couple friends of mine, I asked myself the million-dollar question, what do I want to become in the future? After thinking of a couple possibilities, I started jotting down strategic plan of action that will help me get there.
Two weeks later, I’m on my way back to New York, this time to pick up my girlfriend after summer is almost over. The second time around, the experience of what was once “boring and forgettable”, was turned around completely. I had gotten ahead in the career plan I had created, and the time flew by as I was typing away on my keyboard. The moral of the story is that hard work comes before the sweetness of accomplishment; also, it’s never too late to start something, as long as you put your mind to it. Now with the spread of social media and the prevalence of ChatGPT, we are seeing less and less the authenticity and people not used to building something from the ground up.
What this says is that I don’t need editing skills to start making videos; I don’t even need to speak the perfect English to have tons of American friends. All I know is that I love to think and talk and make friends with people. We are put on this Earth to give out good vibe and good energy. and I couldn’t be more excited about the podcast we have on the way.
