About me

My name is Sean Lyu. I am a fourth-year student, studying Finance, Marketing, and Communication studies at Northeastern University. I am scared of failure, but what I have come to realize recently, I am scared of regretting because I didn't try hard enough, I could've done better.

Currently on a journey of self-discovery, exploring the endless possibilities of one's potential.

We all have faced different roadblocks and crossroads in our lives. Looking back, I have tasted the sour in my mouth (failed start-up ideas, bad grades during COVID), but I can’t throw tantrums by giving up, that would be the biggest betrayal of the trust my parents had in me, my own potential. I thought that it’s about time to start somewhere that will help me reach my goals and prepare me for what’s next, whether it’s for getting to a top graduation school program or getting a job I like.
On August 15th, 2023. I was on a train ride from New York, going to Boston. The ride was four-and-a-half hours long and dreary. I was flipping in my seat and getting up and down; I couldn’t wait for it to be over. Rather than blaming the train, I turned it around at myself and said, if I had been working or my responsibility taking care of my responsibility that ride, like my life depended on it. It wouldn’t have been the same. In fact, I could’ve gotten a lot done in four hours long, undisrupted timeframe.

hacks & tips

I will be talking about hacks & tips, discipline, time management, interesting social phenomenon all while record our journey in blogs and podcasts from this moment and onward.

It’s no secret that most of the people struggling with school is not because they are dumber, they just lack the right tools to help them learn, or that they haven’t taken the initiative to start looking for which tool works the best in their specific case. Not to mention how most of us learn better through practicing and applying the concepts in real life. Some of the educators on social media are still writing their scripts and “lecturing”, maybe it’s time for a “revolution” in experiential learning.
